BIOGRAPHIES
Mike has been Kiteboarding since 2002 with roots in surfing, skateboarding and snowboarding. Immediately after getting into the sport he started his first kiteboard company, Liquid Life Kiteboarding LLC which has since partnered with Cosmic Kites. He is the Owner of both companies and is dedicated to helping the sport grow through education, positive influence and awareness. He has traveled the world to kitesurf and is always looking for new ways to help the sport grow. Kiting has kept him away from his root sports; however, he seems quite satisfied with a life of kiting.
Tim started kitesurfing in early 2007 and has progressed very quickly. From day one Tim has been totally dedicated to learning all aspects of the sport and has become an advanced level rider in a short period of time. He has been consulting for Cosmic Kites since he got into the sport and has brought a real positive attitude to the industry and has been responsible for introducing hundreds of new riders. Tim is always seeking out new jumps to add to his quiver; recently he has been focused on the biggest air possible with kiteloops and unhooked maneuvers.
Chris' roots are surfing, snowboarding and of course cliff jumping. He brings an exciting dynamic to the Cosmic Crew with his ingenuity, creativity and focus on success. Chris spends his year in many places besides just Long Beach: Tortola, San Diego, Costa Rica, the mountains of Colorado, and anywhere else he can find a plane ticket to. Chris will be focusing his efforts on our Team Riders, domestic and overseas sales, and increasing our product line. Keep your eyes on this guy, he is soon to be ripping up huge surf with his kite.
Amanda joined our team in early August 2008. We were lucky enough to meet her her in town and she was totally stoked for the Cosmic Kites photoshoot. After spending the afternoon with us she qucikly got the feeling that kiteboarding was for her. She has yet to try it out, but she is way stoked to get on the water with us. Joe was a surfer/snowboarder for most of his life. He started kiting in late 2007, and like Tim, progressed incredibly fast. People ask him a lot, "How do you like Kite surfing?" and he always responds the same way, "The best thing I ever did". Joe feels that kiting is a hybrid between surfing, snowboarding and skating with an entirely unique dynamic of the kite thrown in, unlocking new boundaries of air and hang time.
Lenny "hey man" is the truest of icons in the kiting industry. Visit Long Beach and ask anyone if they know Lenny, if they don't they probably don't live here. Lenny was the first kiter in the area and is the most stoked person you will ever meet. He is always smiling big (if you look closely you will see he is flying a 1 line kids kite) and will do anyting to get anyone out there kiting. and help the sport grow. Lenny's roots are skydiving, downhill mountain biking, surf kayaking, and of course Rock-n-Roll. Keep the stoke Lenny, you are everyone's idol.
Doesn't the picture say it all? Rory is "The President" for a reason. This guy lays it down every day and is never scared to do it. Whether he is mountain biking, scuba diving, riding motocross, snowboarding, kitesurfing, or paramotoring, he is just stoked, fearless and very energized. Meet Rory and you will immediately like the guy; super friendly to anyone and everyone, big 'ol bright smile and super calm demeanor (unless something is broken which prevents him from having fun). Rory is like the rest of us, a total kid at heart. Click his picture to see just how fearless the guy is, then get to Long Beach and chill with him, you'll be stoked you did.
Kevin got into kiteboarding since he discovered the sport watching the travel channel in early 2006. His ideal session is "anywhere with blue water, warm wind and tasty waves...some place not too crowded where all the people are mellow and relaxed with a smile on their face, a drink in their hand, and laughter in the air. After all, the best kiteboarder is the one having the most fun." Kevin joined the Cosmic Team in June 2008 and rides in CA and is soon moving to Hawaii. Kevin is our newest team rider.
