The weather was not the best (chilly and side-off conditions); however, there was enough wind to kite and people did take advantage of it. Tons of new kiters were introduced to the sport thanks to the trainer kites available and the indestructible Eclipse Kites.
The 4m and 6m Eclipse Nano's took a huge beating from beginners trying to master the art of kite flying; it was a true testament to the build quality of those kites considering no damage was sustained. Remember, all Eclipse kites come with a 1 year, NO-QUESTIONS ASKED FREE repair policy. Kite Day 2008! Demo, Downwinder, Party!

KITE DAY 2008 IS A GO!
Saturday May 3rd, 59F Mostly Sunny
Wind Side-On Shore 13-21 mph blowing all day!
TIME: Fun starts at 11am until ....
LOCATION: Washington Blvd @ the Beach in Long Beach, NY
THE PLAN: Demo all the newest Eclipse kite gear including Skywalker boards. Help Eclipse R+D 2009 Kites! We will also have trainer kites on hand for those of you that are new to the sport. All gear will be available for purchase plus special offers for those attending.
BRING: 3/2 wetsuit or thicker, booties, helmet, harness, plenty of water and some food. We will have 2 local deli's providing some food and water; however, always good to have more. All deli's are nearby and only a 10 minute walk from the Demo. It may also be a good idea to bring some of your own kite gear so that you can kite while others are demoing the kites. We are expecting a large turnout and we want everyone to be able to tryout the demo gear. If the wind prediction is correct then for an average weight rider of 170 lbs a 7m or 9m kite will be perfect.

Beach Buggying w/Crazy Winds, February 10, 2008
6 kiters came out and braved the wind on a day that we could have used small t-shirts as kites. Per the Ikitesurf wind graph and our own wind meters, the wind was almost hitting 60mph. Thanks to one of the riders we were all able to use a 1m Ozone Little Devil. I never in my kiting life ever figured a use for a 1m beyond kite lessons. This kite moved like a figher jet but pulled us like a truck in the buggys on the beach. We then took out our 3.6m Ballistic with VERY short lines (15') and had a blast. The kite flew great and was very stable in the air with a steady constant pull and felt safe. We were even able to give lessons to a new kiter and he did awesome (great job Scott). He felt extremely safe on the 1m and controlled the kite perfectly. His attempts at the buggy were not as graceful but congrats on trying.
